Scent of Musgo balm...

I really love it. And so does my wife. I wonder if any of their colognes smells
like the balm. Appears to be 3 of them. And the splash? Is it similar to the
balm in scent?
Btw Nicest forum in cyberspace.

The splash is identical to the balm in scent; the bath Soap on a Rope is also the same scent, although a bit more muted. None of the colognes are the same, but the a/s splash is so strongly scented, I don't think that matters.

Thanks Horatio
Is the scent of the splash stronger/longer lasting than the balm?

I only used the balm a few times, several years ago, so I'm not sure about that. I found the balm pretty potent, but in using the splash again recently, I was struck by how strong it is, and it lasts a good long time. I find the splash to be as strong as, or stronger than, many colognes.

That's odd, because to me the Musgo Real Classic After Shave splash doesn't have much scent at all? I am really baffled why people praise it? I mean, it may be good for your face, but the scent is extremely mild to me, almost undetectable. What's going on?

I'm not necessarily praising it for being strong. For me, it's actually too strong, and I would prefer it if the scent were lighter. I can't say why it strikes you as not having much scent. Just out of curiosity, what fragrances do you find to be strong, if any?

Well, I would say that pretty much anything I have has a more discernible/stronger scent than the Musgo Real AS splash, with the notable exception of the sample of Trumper Skye which is almost non-existent. I consider, for example, Pinaud Bay Rum to be almost overbearingly strong. Freshman is another very powerful scent.

That's what got me worried, I have some AS balms, like 1805 and Trafalgar which have much more discernible scents. To my nose the Musgo scent is extemely mild and vague. I can't really discern the patchouli and vetiver in it. In fact, I can't really smell the scent enough to describe it. Maybe I have a blind spot as far as Musgo is concerned?

Now that is really peculiar as I agree with HoratioCaine that, although I like the smell, its a little too strong on application. Perhaps you got a bad batch? :confused1
