After seeing some of the most unbelievable restorations that have been done by the many artists on this site I wanted to post a link here for a wood that would make some of the most incredible scales anyone has ever seen. I have several pieces of this wood and I just cant get enough of it. I think you will feel the same once you see it. The wood is a hardwood found in the Pacific northwest and just sanding will polish this wood so nicely that you would think it had some kind of finish on it already. It is very common for this wood to also have burls that are like nothing you have ever seen. This link will take you to a page of the site that shows several pieces of the wood that are probably all from the same tree. You will find that no two pieces of this wood are the same and that is what is so incredible about it.
here is the link.

I hope you all find this wood as attractive and practical for scales as I think it would be.
