Sanitize used brush

I am sure this has been asked and answered many times
How can I sanitize a used shave brush i purchased?
Sorry-I don't have Barbacide sitting in my house

Wash it gently with dish soap and warm water then twirl it briefly in a bowl of 1 part vinegar to 4 parts water for about 30 seconds and rinse with clean water and you should be good to go!

Agreed, plus soap and water are enough on their own. Diluted vinegar will help clean off any remnant soap residue, skin cells etc, but it does nothing to sanitize your brush. You have to think about it, HIV lasts only minutes in the open air, even tough viruses like Hep C only live for a few weeks outside of the body. Common bacteria (all over everything we touch) mostly rinses away with warm soapy water. Allow the brush to dry for a few days and you will be good to go. There is never a need to soak a shaving brush in a harsh sanitizer like Barbicide.
