Sad Sultan

The Sultan was the last of my pre-ground Turkish grind coffee sampling..Loumidis from Greece was repulsive ,very high percentage of acrid robusta , Memet Efendi from Turkey a tad less offensive...Now the Sultan ,100% Colombian , but what grade of Colombian ??....The Sultan didn't even form a crema , the aroma was vague , the taste was like reused Maxwell House grounds , simply horrid stuff...This ends my search for Turkish grind , preground coffee , I'll stick to the coffee bean roasting houses for my bean supply...

I use the same coffee that I roast and use in all brew methods.

I find that the same coffee made in different brewers taste completely different.

Starting with a good fresh coffee yields good results no matter which brew method I choose.

Yes, I think freshly roasted whole bean is your best bet. I don't think there is any way to replicate the crema shown in the label on the Sultan coffee package when actually using their coffee after it has been ground, packaged, and shipped through the supply chain to your home.
