Rules on mentioning a vendor

I bought a brush via a vendor in Amazon, and had some issues when the brush arrived. The vendor has been extremely accommodating and has provided me with some of the best costumers service I've seen on the web. I would like to share my pleasant experience with the forum, but first I would like to know what are the rules of writing a good review of a seller. I'm not sure if he/she is in the list of the forum's vendors. Help?

I've read numerous threads from those who wish to share a postive experience about products they've purchased and how nice it was to deal with a particular vendor. I can't imagine it's not allowed unless it somehow becomes an "infomercial" or public tar and feathering.

I reviewed a non B&B vendor and was not censored. PM a Mod.

My experience has been mention the wrong vendor or product line and your post will be short lived. Still figuring out who is or is not permitted. It is a trial and error thing. If you see a vendor name and the post stays a day or two my best guess is that vendor is acceptable. Some of the postings I have had deleted I repost with #### in lieu of the name and a request to pm me if you want the name. That has been allowed. Go figure...

I don't think there is a problem with vendor reviews but Vendor reviews belong in Marketplace, shopping and deals and not the general forum.

So (and I'm playing devil's advocate here) if someone like Mike or Michelle go out of their way to resolve an issue I had with one of their soaps I should not mentioned in the general or the soap forum? Just in the marketplace?

While I think the best advice is "PM a mod", I have found no issues with mentioning vendors around here, on any forum. If a vendor has been previously banned here for bad behavior, you might get some backlash from the mods and/or the community. And as far as I can tell, linking to Amazon is perfectly acceptable.

I'd love to hear a positive story about a vendor.

My wallet cries.
I've posted positive feedback on a vendor before and didnt have a problem, I would just pm a mod if you are unsure, they are really nice and will answer your questions. Ps having said that, do we have a dedicated "Cheers and Jeers" section?

Vendor reviews, good or bad, are permitted at B&B. Knowing who to rely on for purchasing your shaving kit without a hassle is part of what we offer.

What is not permitted is ungentlemanly critique, fanboyism or shilling.

"PM a mod" is always good advice. :wink2:

Getting the advice of a Mod is for sure the way to go, however IMHO a nice review of a vendor can only help other members looking to purchase something.

Thanks, especially to the two Mods. who replied. As soon as my dealings with this vendor are settled I will post a good review.
