Rooney Silvertip variations

The Super Silvertip is sorted and the wavy/imperfect hairs are taken out. This makes the hairs stand straighter and closer together. I does come at a small cost though, as with out the wavy hairs grabbing onto their neighbors sometimes these brushes can be a bit more floppy than other brushes of the same density. For most users this is not an issue, but for some of the more picky among us its worth noting.

I have a Rooney 3/1 in Super and I find it far from floppy. It is a very dense firm brush that kills my soaps and makes gobs of lather. My other brush a Vulfix 2234 is a very floppy brush in comparison. I'm extremely happy with my purchase.

I said can not is always be floppy. Maybe I have gotten a couple bum brushes, and maybe the drop in backbone is less important than I made it sound. I had a 3/1 and a 1/2 and both were dense but lacked the backbone I like YMMV as always. Anyway by all reports, the new crop of Rooney Super Silevertip brushes are not floppy. Check out the thread "Rooney did whaaaat" for a couple reviews of the newest ones.
