Roll Your Own

I know that rolling cigarettes isn't as classy as smoking a good cigar or loading up a pipe...but I enjoy it :D And I've been doing it for the past few months. I used a rolling machine in the start but threw it away as soon as I was able to hand roll something smokable.

So are there any other out here that have a smoking habit but don't like cigarettes you can buy in a pack.
What's your poison, what papers, filters, tobacco do You prefer?

I'm on Smoking red or Gizeh red papers

Gizeh active charcoal slim filters

And I usually have a bag of Golden Virginia or Drum bright blue around

i was awful at rolling at first, but when I got tired of lose filters from the roller I took things in my own hands, when you screw up about 20 or so you get the hang of it :D
Good thing is the papers are cheap and you can always take out the tobacco and the filter from the botched cig

interesting... maybe I'll look into picking up some starter supplies. Could be a nice change once in a while...

Where do you get your stuff from?

Definitely ditch the filters. I used regular ZigZags(white) most of the time. Tried my hands with a rolling machine but didn't like carrying it around. Definitely roll by hand and practice. Buddy of mine swore by these papers. (http://bambu.com/index.php) Not as readily available so it never caught on with me.

Hand rolling or machine rolling a tight filter has always eluded me. Hat tip to you Sir!

In the house, I mostly use a Supermatic & Excel. Outside, it's hand rolled. My favorite is hard to find with new laws--chocolate blunt wraps, a thick pressed tobacco wrap with no paper. I think theres also a paper/tobacco combo with a similar name. My favorite manual rollers are Rizla, both 80 and 120mm. Only use them when I use a filter, but why bother when you have an Excel?

Stokkebye tobacco by far. Don't much like American flavors, but I will go for the yellow Tops, which is part Turkish.

Used to smoke either American Spirit Yellow, with green rizzla papes. Or Drum Select.
Normally unfiltered, at the end with just some random filters from corner shop.
