Sorry I don't know but will give you a reply to bump the thread. From looking at used Rockwells for sale I notice the paint seems to wear off in the high contact areas over time leaving them patchy so for best long term appearance it might be best to go for the basic silver one.
Thanks Alex!!! You made my job even more easier. I will go with the basic oneSorry I don't know but will give you a reply to bump the thread. Thanks for confirming the paint wear is from normal use. That's what I suspected but you never know what abuse a used razor on ebay has suffered! To me it seems there's a product logic inconsistency in customers buying the 6S over the 6C for the durability but then paying extra for a non-durable paint finish. Maybe the extra cost is to cover all the related complaints and returns they get. IMHO they should only charge that sort of money if they have found a way to get the colour permanently into the metal.I have had a blue one for about 3 years and probably about 10% of the blue has worn off. It sort of looks beat up even though I treat it well. It has never touched any other surface other than my face and a plastic bowl that I keep water in to warm up the brush and razor.

I agree that they should not charge more for something prone to flaking or wearing off. Honestly, I thought the plating (if that's what it is called), would be permanent. It did start to bother me when the bus started disappearing, but then I just decided that the wear shows that it's being used, and I'm okay with that. Thanks for confirming the paint wear is from normal use. This makes sense since I just confirmed with Rockwell that the 6S in Red and Blue are discontinued. I believe the same is true for the 6C in Rose Gold. Black is still availableIt's important to note that the red and blue finishes are not the same as the black. As I recall from when they were released, the red and blue are a kind of proprietary paint process while the black is PVD. PVD has excellent wear characteristics and should not flake or chip.
