They are nice, but a bit spendy for a con IMO. But I can see it would really appeal to cob aficionados

It's hard to get the cost because we are so used to Missouri Meerschaum prices, but if you think about it there's a lot of hand crafted work that goes into that pipe. So I think the price is pretty low considering the design work and style of it.

But I will add, it isn't really my thing and I will probably pass.

I totally agree with the time taken and the cost associated with said time sink. The same argument is made with Walker Briar Forever Stems, and I have 3 of them anyways. I was able to rationalize the purchase knowing the stems could easily be switched to a new cob when the originaly burns out, or gets dropped down the stairs.

I like unusual pipes. The long bamboo looks awesome but they are a little pricey.

Gurnall, have you pursued these pipes yet? I know Riccardo Santia is from Ontario and was wondering if you know how to contact him directly? I see his pipes for sale at aristocob.com but that's in the U.S. and it'd obviously be better for us Canadians to buy from Ontario rather than the States. My cobs that I learned to smoke pipe with are pretty much burned out so I'm thinking it's time for me to grab one of his pipes, now that I'm confident I can smoke a cob without setting it on fire.

I haven't bought one. I sent him a message on facebook and he responded, "i have aristocob.com selling them for me or thru me on facebook"

I'm really diggin' Mr. Brog pipes right now. Hit'em up on fb and see what he has to say about the pricing, etc. Here's one he posted recently, looks good...
