Interesting topic. My AJ is from the British #48 set sold in the Australian Market. The silo doors on mine are very shiny and appear to be plated in a different material than the rest of the razor. I wonder if my doors are rhodium? It seems like I read somewhere a long time ago that some of the AJs specifically had rhodium doors, but my memory of what I read might not be accurate. I know my doors look different.

Haven't heard of rhodium Juniors, where did you see one before? I'm sure mine are nickel -- very high luster nickel!

This is one of two de razors I have and the other is a super adjustable. Would that work?

It is far far brighter than my super adjustable.

I just googled aristocrat junior and the rhodium thing came up.

The Super Adjustable came with either nickel or gold doors.

Comparing different plating materials by looks is very difficult. Pictures of different materials are not easy to compare because of different lightning and color balance.

This is a picture of a chrome Fatboy, nickel Slim and an original Super Adjustable shorty.

This is a picture of a rhodium plated Aristocrat # 16 .

And finally this is a picture of the Aristocrat junior from Achims site.

Thanks picture one shows how different plating when side by side plays the light differently.

Nice line up btw.

This is the one I have, except my bakelite case is the cream colored one for the Aussie market.
