Replating...plastic?

I won a '52 ss black tip off of ebay last week. After shaving with it this week Ive found I really like it. It shaves a lot better that the "57 ss I have. Some of the finnish is wearing off the guides and the back of the head. I would like to have it replated but it has the aluminum handle with the plastic black tip. I cant see where it can be taken apart to separate the plastic. So i guess my question is can it be replated with out destroying the black tip?
