Replacement work pen suggestions

I've been using a paper mate profile for quite awhile and am really quite happy with it. Recently though I've decided I would like something a bit nicer and with a finer tip. The shape of the profile is really good for me and I greatly prefer a fatter barrel. Rubber is not necessary around the grip area but I would like it to have something to keep my fingers from slipping as I tend to press down pretty hard. A ballpoint is preferable and a clicky top is almost a must. Somewhere in the $20ish range would do nicely. Thanks

I've said it before, I'll say it again and I'll probably say it a couple more times.

Parker Jotter. The gel refills are my preference, though.

Thanks for the reply. I looked at the jotter and think it might be a bit slim for me to be completley happy with it. Is there a jotter model thats fatter I might have missed?

Back in the dark ages before I (re)discovered fountain pens, I had several Dr. Grip gel pens and liked them quite a bit.

They do make them and I will probably get one and try it out. Thanks

I think I have one I might be able to dig up and send if you can't find one, but let me know. They're relatively cheap and easy to find. (I'm assuming you can find one and return for a refund if you try it and don't like it.)

Thank you very much for the offer but its not needed, I happen to know the office depot around the corner carries them. The generosity of this forum is truly amazing!

I really like the Pilot V series pens. They make a retractable version now, so you don't have to chase caps all day. They're my favorite non-fountain pen I've come across. I think they come in 2 or 4 packs, something like that. Give them a look while you're at Office Depot.

Wait! Thay make retractable fountain V pens? That's fantabulous! Where can I buy these items of wonder?!

Excuse me gents. I'll be in the next tab over perusing the shops...

They are not fountain pens, its the ball points, as far as I know the only retractable fountain pen out there is Pilots Vanishing Point

In my line of work taking engineering logs in the Navy, I've really loved the smaller sizes and reliability of a Parker or Zebra ballpoints. I love the nicer custom pens, but these are disposable and when dropped into the lower bowels of the ship or "borrowed" by a co-worker, I get less upset.

That's exactly what I thought when I found them. Mine says "Pilot Precise V5 RT" on the side. They're silver with a black grip and a really long clicker, kind of like a retractable Sharpie. It's my favorite non-FP for sure. I don't remember where I got mine, but it was probably either WalMart, Target or the BX. I'm sure any other store with office supplies will have them.

As luck would have it office depot was sold out of the Dr. Grip so I picked up a Uni Premier 207. It has a very squishy barrel and it is gel so I'm a bit worried about smearing. If it doesn't work I may give the pilot precise a go when I return for the Dr. Grip.
