Repairing bent leather strop

I recently came into an Illinois 126 horsehide strop--mainly for the linen--which at some time was bent so that the leather has a corrugated section about 2 inches long towards the bottom. I put Fromm dressing on the strop and then rolled with a beer bottle the bad section, but it did not help too much. Any other suggestions? Could I try to sand that spot level? Many thanks.

I can answer simply, but doing this is best with some experience. You can case and then jack or glaze the strop to remove that. I wish that helped more than I am afraid it does. But to reform the shape you often need to case the leather and get it to the proper working moisture.
