Remember Soapy Bathman?

I remember hearing of Soap Bathman shave soaps about 9 years ago. Didn’t think twice about it.

Fast forward to a couple of months ago and I received an email from Stonefield Shaving that they were carrying soaps and aftershave balms from SB again. Now I’m interested, but I have over 50 soap and don’t want to buy even more, enough to get the free shipping.

I see that Chris Erskine is the artisan and after a quick Facebook search I stumble upon his profile. Turns out he has a website where he sells beard products, shave soaps, bar soaps, etc. directly.

I’m definitely interested and see that his shave soaps are the same as the ones on SF, but I’m not there yet. I keep checking back each day and then I see that he has a new soap on his website called Johnny Cash. I’m hooked.

Turns out he lives in the Fraser Valley area of British Columbia. Which just happens to be about 30 mins from where I live. A few emails back and forth and we agree to meet up. When it is all said and done, I have met another artisan in person and I am the proud owner of a fantastic smelling shave soap and some bar soaps that smell amazing too.

Chris is a stand up guy. Very easy to talk to and he promptly responded to all my inquiries. Definitely worth checking out. There is even a pickup option if you are local.

Yup, I saw he was back. I used his Tropical Lime back in 2021 and enjoyed it. His >1/2 lb tubs are chocked full of goodness! Which scent did you get?

Coffee and Whiskey? That should have been an Orange Blossom Special.

Pulled out a tub of Soapy Bathman Cedar Sandalwood the other day and moved it to the top shelf for near future use. It is a unique soap base in that it has tallow but looks like a glycerin based soap (translucent-somewhat anyways).

The tubs are 8 oz so they hold a lot of soap, double most artisans these days. Thanks for bringing this up and refreshing the minds of those who remember as well as those who may not know about this artisan.
