So, one of my house mates was in Lyon, France, this summer and has been regaling us with the merits of a drink of red wine, cognac, and who knows what else blended together. Has anyone heard of this?

A sort of Sangria perhaps?
That never even dawned on me, great thought! I will have to question him more along that line.That's what it sounds like to me. Most of the sangria recipes I can think of call for brandy too, so it might be a local variation.
