Recommend shaving brush

I need a new shaving brush and not sure where to start. This will be my second brush, my first was a cheapie i found at a local store. I would like to keep the cost between 20-40 but willing to spend more if its worth it.

So far i've been looking at the omega brushes on amazon.com, not sure what one i should get? Omega on amazon

Also vulfix has several for reasnable prices. Vulfix

The Vulfix London Series are nice quality brushes for about $40-45. I bought a used one of a member and found it a quality brush I enjoyed using.

A Rooney 1/1 in Pure can be had for exactly $45 and is a name-brand English quality brush--very dense, good with soaps.

A Simpson's Special in Pure can be had for about $35 and is a fine little brush, I used one for a long time before relegating it to travel duty.

These are your best >$50 choices. Hope this helps

I posted this in your soap thread, but here it is again (edited a little now that I have a little more time to think about it). I've had a great experience with my little Vulfix.

Check out leesrazors.com. I bought a Vulfix 660, small, super badger. I think it cost me around $40 (the same one in pure badger is as low as $29, I think), if I remember correctly, and I have absolutely loved it. It sometimes is a little soft for working with stubborn soaps, but that hasn't been enough of a problem for me to want to replace it or even have another brush in my den. I've only been at this wet shaving thing for about 9-10 months or so, but I have yet to feel the need to upgrade (other than just wanting to try some new stuff). It was my first brush and remains my only so far. If you don't like that one, www.leesrazors.com has several others that are solid and reasonably priced.

You aren't kidding about the very dense. There is another thread going on about the breaking in of the Rooney in pure. I have a Rooney in pure and didn't take the new brush into consideration. I went to town scrubbing my face with that and jeebus! I was used to my little Omega 599. Needless to say, face felt a little raw. There will be come break in time with a pure.

Speaking of the little 599, it is about $45 as well. I have been happy with it. But it is tiny. A few really like Omega's boar line up. Might be something to consider as well. I have an Omega synthetic that is fun to lather up with on occasion, for the $15 it cost me.

I think a Simpson or Vulfix might be in my future.

I have a Vulfix 403 in pure badger. It is part of the London Series and is known as the "Mayfair". I have been happy with it.
