Recommend My Next Shaving Brush

I currently own a Simpsons Duke 3 and Wee Scott. For everyday shaving I use the Duke 3 and bowl lather. I use the Wee Scott when I travel and typically palm lather. Do I "need" another brush? I was thinking of something like a Simpsons Chubby 2. I'm fairly new to DE shaving so advice is appreciated.

As of now I'm primarily using creams and only have one soap (VDH Luxury) in my rotation.

No, you do not per se need one.
It is fun though, and sometimes practical.

You seem to focus on badger, and that is perfectly fine. But there's others of course!
I can for instance recommend a Muhle Silvertip Fibers, for travelling or daily use.
Something like a SOC or other nice boar is nice to have when you use soaps.
Bullgoose also has nice beehives in horse or horse / badger mix.

Other Simpsons I can recommend are the M7 GYLE, the Emperor and the Berkeley.
But the Chubby 2 gets a lot of praise here, so that would be a good option.
IIRC it is available in Best and in Manchurian Badger at the moment.

Well you don't need one unless your Duke doesn't dry by the next shave.

I classify brushes as by structure type: short/dense long/flexible and by hair type: 2-band / 3-band / Manchurian / finest.

Maybe a Chubby 2 in two-band? Would that brush be a good choice for soaps and creams?

No Simpson brush is a bad choice for both soaps or creams. But first you should decide, what you want: small, medium or large brush? short handle for face lathering or longer handle for convenient lathering in a bowl? Do you want to concentrate on Simpson only? Mind you, other mothers have nice daughters, too! M&F, Rooney, Thäter, Mühle, shavemac, Semogue, Vie Long etc. pp.

Find yourself a cool old handle in an antique store for restoration, get a finest knot with extra hair from The Golden Nib and get to work! You won't regret the results, and you might be able to afford cooler presents for your family!

My Duke 3 is typically not completely dry for the next morning shave. Also I prefer to bowl lather creams and also soaps in a separate bowl after loading the brush. The Simpsons Tulip 3 and Semogue 830 Boar have caught my interest.
