Recommend me a fragrance

H

HiMoz

Hello. Im out for a new fragrance. The past has seen Issey Miyake L'eau D'issey and Lacoste Red which I'm finding is far to short lasting compared to the issey.

Main criteria is something more suitable for a 20 year old student but not quite as common as the Issey or Acqua Di Gio sorta things. Prime use will be for nights out.

To throw a spanner in the works if its available here http://www.debenhams.com/beauty/fragrance#ps=default&storeId=10001&lid=%2F%2Fproductsuniverse%2Fen_GB%2Fproduct_online%3DY%2Fcategories%3C%7Bproductsuniverse_59001%7D%2Fcategories%3C%7Bproductsuniverse_59001_77102%7D%2Fcategories%3C%7Bproductsuniverse_59001_77102_77163_ms%7D&catalogId=10001 it'd be a plus as I get staff discount :wink2:

I would recommend you go to Badger Decants and order up a variety. Floris, Czech and Speake and Penhaligons are my favorites. The prices of the decants are low enough for you to try a good variety and dealing with Chuck is a pleasure.

Looking at your website, I'd say that Guerlain Habit Rouge or Vetiver, Burberry Brit (not that rare but a sentimental favorite), or one of the limited editions from Aramis.

Not super rare, but how about Dolche and Gabbana - Light Blue. My girlfriend gave it to me for Christmas, I enjoy it much more than my old Armani stuff.

The two best fragrances IMO from your website are:

Dior Homme Intense
L'Instant de Guerlain Pour Homme

I'm 23 and Dior Homme Intense is the fragrance I always find myself turning to for nights out on the town. Fairly easy to wear, and quite unique, you would never bump into another guy wearing it I guarantee.

Let us know what you end up with!

If you like Issey, they make one called "Intense". You can clearly smell the original Issey in it, but it is loaded with spices and all kinds of other stuff and it is very long lasting. Check it out.......

I'd say the best houses are Penhaligon's, Czech & Speake, and Floris. Honorable mentions go out to: Dyptique Tam Dao, Atkinson's Lavender, and Trumper Spanish Leather or Wild fern. Creed is also good but not a value buy.

Almost forgot, check out "Narciso Nodriguez for him". It is unlike any other scent available and I am in my 20's as well and a ton of girls liked it when I was wearing it. Again though, it is very unique, but is very long lasting as well.

The website you reference is British, so I presume you're in UK.

Kouros is a daring scent that many British women supposedly go buggy over. I've never had a chance to test that theory. But try it first if you can. It's pretty intense, animalic juice.

Habit Rouge is classic that would really set you apart.

Dior Homme is a relatively new scent that seems to have some favor with men your age.

Unforgivable smells a lot like Creed's Millesime Imperial which is another popular and somewhat youthful scent.

Please avoid Joop! and Le Male.

Not in the site but worth considering- Rochas Man.

I don't know if that's a store you have access to or website only, but we're all pretty big on sampling. We can point in directions, but ultimately your nose counts the most.

man, i cannot stop using my "Chrome" by Azzarro. I have been using it for 3-4 years now, since I first found it, and it is awesome. I am ALWAYS getting compliments on it, from young women to older women. Just an awesome all around scent.

If I'm not wearing Chrome, I'm wearing Polo "Black"

Two totally different scents, with the Black being a sharper, crisper scent.

For a night out = Le Labo Rose 31

Fresh day fragrance = Terre D'Hermes or Puro Lino (VERY hard to find)

Most versitle fragrance = Green Irish Tweed
