Recommend me a Brush

Hello folks,

I'm looking for a new brush in the 25-50$ range, either boar or badger. I'm looking for something reliable that won't lose much hairs.

Also, what are your thoughts about these brushes:
- Semogue 830
- Vulfix 404 Grosvenor
- Semogue 620
- Simpson Special 1
- Vie-Long 14080 Horse hair

thank you for your time.

Whipped Dog's brushes fall within your price range. I, myself, recently purchased a 24mm silvertip Whipped Dog brush, with resin handle, and even after paying an extra five bucks to get it drilled down to 18-20mm (instead of the standard 10mm), it only ran me $35, delivered. If you're in Canada, you'd get hit with an extra $2 shipping. Still an excellent deal.

As for "reliable," how might a brush be unreliable? It only holds water some of the time? It lathers up nicely only half the time? :)

Regarding not losing too many hairs, most brushes will lose a few hairs at first. I suppose if it were to continue and become excessive, you could contact the retailer from whom you purchased the brush and suggest that the excessive loss of hair constitutes a manufacturing defect, and that a refund or exchange might be appropriate. I've never had to do this though, so I can't say from personal experience.

I have both the Semogues on your list and love them. you could also look into an Omega 11150, another great and inexpensive brush.

The only brushes I can recommend are the Muhle silvertip fiber v2.0, Semogue SOC, and any of the B&B Boars. By sheer unmitigated coincidence, I own 2 of the 3 and the SOC is on order from Vintage Scents due to the positive reviews.

i have the 620 and it gets better each day for face lather
super scrubber but never never irritates me
you can be sure that your lather is everywhere it needs to be after FL with a 620

I personally don't think you could wrong with any Semogue brush. I have the SOC boar which cost me $50 and it's a fantastic brush. Their quality is exceptional I also have the SOC Badger which is out of the range your looking at but I only mention it because it speaks to the high quality of their brushes.
