I just received a tub of Boston Tea Party. Love the scent but what I received looks like a smallish square block of soap sitting in the bottom of the tub and it's maybe a third of the volume of the tub if that. Is this expected? No problem if it is, I'm just curious (and didnt want to use it until I made sure its the normal presentation.). Many thanks.

That's a new one on me. None I've purchased looked anything like what's shown in your photo.
I got third eye and caprician lemon looking like yours. No problems with the soap. RR used two or three different soap makers with different packaging,
All of the artisan series are packaged like that. You just squish the cube to fit any receptacle.
The RR Artisan series looks like that, as do IB's samples of other Italian soaps. I smash them down in the container and they work great.

Funny... Guys keep saying that the artisan soaps all look like that, my lavender chianti artisan came in a small tub and looked like a croap. Interesting....
That's how my Third Eye looked. People say to mash it down, I actually never did.
My Caprician Lemon looked like that.
I thought they recently switched to a different package for the artisan series. I'm not sure of that, but it could explain why people would be seeing different containers for the same product.
They did. The new containers are much smaller, which saves money on shipping for IB. This must be NOS.

This hasn't been my experience, the soap is phenomenal nevertheless. I've tried Third Eye (sandalwood), Moroccan Secret (orange-ish), Zi Peppino (green tobacco), and Fresco (mint-ish). I've enjoyed them all and wish I had Caprican Lemon.

Mine came as a cube - mashed it down
My Mentholipto showed up as a square. I just mashed it on into the tub
I haven't gotten any of the artisan line in a while, so I've only seen the cube packaging. Boston Tea Party is a fantastic scent, maybe the best.
My XX looked like it came out of a soft-serve ice cream machine. I just wet my thumb and smoothed it out flat.
