Razor Sample Pack

You can find razor sample packs on eBay and Amazon.com, as well as specialized shaving vendors online. Don't get just one brand. You want to try as many as possible.

If you are in the states, order a sample pack from westcoastshaving.com their prices are great, have a good selection of sample packs, and they ship quick!

ntguy has samplers with tons of brands -- you can probably get a discount PMing him over buying from his eBay or Amazon page. The Superior Shave also has samplers.

Whatever sampler you get, I'd buy a few packs from other stores to complement it, since nobody has all the brands. I'd never have tried Iridiums or Big Bens if it hadn't been for free samples, and they're my two favorite blades.

Nobody can tell you what brand is "best", though I'd look to try at least with Derbies (good starter blade), Astras, and Feathers, among others. Lord makes some good blades (they make Big Ben and Shark in addition to their eponymous brand). Again, if you can track down some Iridiums, they're quite widely liked (though not mild enoug for a beginner blade). Dorcos are also mild enough for beginners, though they're way too mild for me. It seems that the consensus on Merkurs is that they're awful, so trying them might not be as important as it was once thought to be.

My favorites are SuperMax, Astra Superior Platinum, Feather, and Super Iridium. Though there are many many more brands worth trying, these just work best for me.

Do PM Sam because he can cut B&B members a better deal than if you go through eBay or Amazon and he ships fast. How do I know...excellent experience:thumbup1:!
