A little back story: I started DE shaving with a Merkur HD to get my technique down and set a baseline. After a year of experimenting with different products and blades, I started acquiring other DE razors. I found that I didn't really like all the additional variables with the adjustables that I tried, so I have settled on using a nonadjustable as my go-to razor.
I really like the way my British Rocket HD shaves, the head is perfect, I love that it has vintage British roots, and the TTO is nice. My only complaint is that I would prefer a bit more heft in the handle. After using the Merkur HD for so long, the Rocket HD feels a bit light and slim in my hand.
I would like to buy something that meets my criteria above, but I have found so many possible options (#X, #Y, #ZZ) and searching for information on the specific razors has been challenging.
Can anyone recommend a razor for me and maybe give a bit of backstory on some of the vintage British Gillettes that might match my criteria?
