When I first began with DE blades, I started out using a Merkur 23c. But I love the historic aspect of vintage Gillettes, and I was born in the year 1958 so I have tried a 58 flaretip, a 58 TV special, a 58 tech, and for kicks I also tried a couple Gillette News, one with a beautiful Bull Mastiff handle. I am glad I had a chance to try them, but to tell you the truth, I really could not find anything that shaved me better than my Merkur 23c, so thats my only razor now.
Yeah, that is news to me.Vintage of coarse...you mean there are good new ones?????
Josh, go for either a Super Speed or a Krona. You can not go wrong with either.Well, you have convinced me to get a vintage DE. Any suggestions?
Josh
Thanks, Wonder if ebay has one? Let me look...Yeah, that is news to me.
Vintage. Krona Vintage. Rocket Vintage.

Yep. The Edwin Jagger DE89L is great. That's the only modern safety razor I've found that's worth owning, though. Everything else I use is vintage.
Here's some other vintage and new stuff.
