RAD Killer

For the first 2 years of shaving I had mostly avoidedgetting RAD. I think that was because once I got my technique down I stoppedcoming to B&B. About 6 months ago I started checking the form again, andRAD was on. After clearing out every antique dealer in a 40 mile radius, andseveral on-line orders, I think I have finally found "The One". Hereis my latest acquisition. This is by far the most beautiful razor I own, and myother EJ was already one of my favorite shavers.

Welcome back......here to stay?

Yes, I have been looking around a while. That is what kick started the RAD. I have enough variety of razors that I fell confident that I wont need to buy any for a while....plus now I will have more money for different soaps and AS.

Hard to beat an EJ. IMO it is the best modern razor as it perfect for newbies and old timers alike.

Looks gorgeous in gold.

In my opinion EJ are already one of the most attractive razors on the market. I was a little unsure how I would feel about a gold razor. All of my previous razors are either chrome, nickel or worn down to brass. When I first opened the box you could see it glowing through the paper packaging. When I got it unwrapped, Iknew it was a keeper.
I do wonder how the gold finish will hold up, but for the price, it is replaceable if it eventually fails. As with all EJ I have seen the plating is flawless. The only negative is that itis a little more slippery than I would have thought, but that could be because I had gotten used to my Weber.

Update---While still a nice razor that is going to stay in my rotation, it has not killed my RAD for long. I pulled my Slim back out and have been using that for the last few days. I forgot how good of a shave a slim on 5 with an Astra SP is. The one odd thing is that Astras are my favorite blade in the slim, but yank and pull badly in my Jagger.

Darn you! I hadn't realized that they came in gold now too. I look on their site & what do I find? This!

And here I thought *I* was cured.

I think I am learning that there is no cure for RAD, it is only ever in remission. It is a fantastic razor, buy the razor but pitch the Derby's....of course ymmv.

That would be awsome! I also like the rose gold razors that Muhle made, but those seemed to disappear as well. I would have bought a 41 in either gold or rose gold.
