Question on a new brush

Recently found a vulfix pure badger brush on sale at Marshall's for $15. When I first soaked it, I noticed that it seemed to be bleeding. The water it was soaking in turned a very subtle brown. Is this normal? Thanks.

I don't know if its normal, but its probably just some of the natural oils from the badger's skin/hair washing out. Try washing the brush in hair shampoo followed by a rinse in conditioner. I don't think its anything to worry about.

Maybe you should use latex gloves like they do in the ER?
