I have a number of chrome Merkurs. The quality of the finish is OK, but pales in comparison to the chrome on my EJ89BLB. I wondered how the quality of Merkur's gold finish compares. Thanks

Not sure because I don't own a razor with a gold finish
the reason I don't own a razor with a gold finish is that all the razors I have ever seen that had a gold finish appeared to not have worn well
hard chrome is I believe harder than the gold finish and lasts longer before showing wear I think
