Puzzeled

I have found it puzzling why so many of the shave demonstration sites on You Tube are by guys with goatees. There does not seem to be a lot to shave in this instance and yet quite a bit of the "how to" video winds up not addressing the most difficult areas. It is hilarious actually. Now I have nothing against goatees and there are some clear patches to shave, but you get my point. Most do a good job with half their face and all are amusing in their own way, particularly the guy from Liverpool (have to pay attention in any event to understand him. I also keep pulling for him to wake up) and This Old Shave who gives quite a show. A cliffhanger every time on whether he is going to finish or just give up in horror at what is happening to his face. The dude with all the black hair (does he or doesn't he?) deals with an abundance of products. I would like him to change shirts occasionally, if only for diversity and so that his shave cream doesn't get all over the collar. I keep hoping one of them makes a huge mistake on one of the passes and is forced to cut everything. I want to at least trim the Liverpool guy's chin and make the goatee look better. I think everyone would agree that the chin, mouth, and under nose are critical to the shave and how various razor and blade combination's address these areas is important and of interest to the watching public. Mantic 59 and Geo of ShaveNation.com do help those of us that shave everything, though occasionally Geo sneaks in the odd Goatee. It is all fun and everyone gets full credit for being out there doing it, goatee or not. Most don't take themselves too seriously and have great senses of humor. And something has to be said about the viewers who watch all this stuff....I just don't know what it is.

I don't really have an answer. I agree it's frustrating especially when learning straights. The chin is most difficult area to shave and you have a guy telling you how easy it is yet he avoids the chin. When I started with a DE I found mantic59's videos the most helpful.

I wore a goatee for a long time.
One day I shaved it off just to see what my chin looked like (I forgot!)
But when I went over that spot with a straight I had a little trouble.
It had been too long since I ran my straight over my chin.
Of course like riding a bicycle, you never really forget.

Just put it in the comments, they usually will at least give an answer :) maybe you'll get to see one of those guys slice off, I mean attempt to shave off their chin if you ask!
