Pump spray for Olive Oil

I tried a Misto Sprayer for Olive Oil a few years ago, but it was a big disappointment. It didn't spray well and seemed be permanently clogged, so the oil came out in a line instead of a spray.

Is there a better product out there to spray oil on the pan. (Without buying oil in a metal can.)

I know that I can put it myself, but I have a tough time getting the right amount. I usually pour too little, then add too much!

I cook quite a bit and I usually find it easier to just put a few drops of oil in the pan and then wipe it with a paper towel to distribute it evenly. I don't like the overspray from a can/spray-bottle. I also don't like the disposable cans at all, because of the waste. I keep oil in a glass bottle (old wine bottle) with a quick pour spout which makes it easier to pour just a few drops.

I have a Misto sprayer and it works quite well (so far). Maybe you just had a dud?

I actually had a similar experience with the misto after about a year of good use. I've since moved on to the paper towel trick -- works great!

How/where do you store your Olive Oil?

It will thicken if it's too cold so that might be the cause of the clogged spray.

side note: when I use mine, I always spray until there's no pressure left in the can, and I tilt it when I do so that (hopefully) only air is coming out before I put it up

My grandma gave me this tip: use an old syrup bottle (providing you buy the cheap maple syrup in the squeezable plastic bottle). I washed one out and tried it, and it works pretty well. Also, it's easy to refill, and readily available. It's not a sprayer, but it lets you only use a few drops.
