Public Apology to a fellow member

I want to publicly apologize to fellow member, Jimmyinkedup. I got impatient today with my perceived lack of response from him to finalize a purchase from me in the B/S/T forum earlier today. I had others interested and ended up hastily selling a shave kit to another member. At the time, I wanted to get the kit shipped off to a buyer before going out of town tomorrow morning. The end doesn't justify the means.

As the moderator pointed out ( and I didn't realize), once I gave my paypal info, I was committed to sell to the original buyer, jimmyinkedup. I was correctly chastised for not keeping my word. Integrity is important to me. I mishandled this in the midst of a somewhat hectic day. I was wrong. While there's another member out there happy there's one who isn't. I take responsibility for that.

I've had 41 sales threads here in my 5 or so years of being a member. I believe this is the first one I mishandled in such a manner as this. I've always tried to make stuff available at cost to spread the good cheer. Today I messed up. I'll try to make it up to this member if he will oblige me. Jimmy, I truly am sorry.

I'm always amazed how professional and patient the Mods are at B&B. I could never be a moderator on B&B since I have no patience for idiocy. If everyone just took the time to read the forum rules and B/S/T selling/buying rules properly, the moderators would have so much free time, they would probably take up beer bottle cap collecting.

READ THE FORUM RULES AND GUIDELINES. Don't understand something?, PM a mod. Sounds real simple to me!

I guess the purpose of this is to insult me. I've read the rules, more than once. I don't recall seeing what the mod referred to. Either way, I'm handling this the best way I know how. Thanks for the "encouragement":thumbdown....I guess

Yah, not cool. This was a honest apology thread, not "a please educate me after I already learned my lesson" request.

Sometimes it's better not to hit the "post quick reply" button.

We all err. How we deal with it is what counts. I would say that your public apology says far more about your character than your mistake earlier. My hat's off to you sir.

The purpose was not to insult you or kick you while you were already down. There is a lesson here for all of us and an answer to how such instances can be 100% avoided by anyone. Sincerely sorry how my message came across.

I've tried to teach my children that a sincere apology is always better than trying to excuse away mistakes. Real men also tend to graciously accept sincere apologies.
