So I'm ready to buy a brick of pu-erh. I would like to buy good quality and not get ripped off. Can you guys and gals recommend what I should buy and from where online? I know it's a matter of preference, but what would you buy right now if you wanted to restock and from where? Thanks
08 Menghai 7532 & 08 Xiaguan FT "Exquisite Elegance" from Yunnan Sourcing or Steve's shop (JAS eTea). These two are my favorites, out of the small amount of puerh I've tried.
hey, since most likely you'll be hooked the real nice stuff is over at nada cha. There is a good variety of older tea, and I think it's nice to know how good the tea can end up being after aging and careful storage. Just expand the range so you'll be aware of what's out there and what to look for.
A brick? I agree contact Steve. Can go with samples or there are those amongst us who believe a beeng (a brick) is a sample. If you follow Steve's advice, you won't go wrong.
Best is to try more before purchasing. Steve should be able to provide you with a range of samples sheng/ripe and those from different years so you'll get an idea
To be honest Ive tried about 5 so far, yes I know im being wasteful but Im just excited to get in to it. I have to say so far they are all really good in their own way. They all seem to be very smooth so far as for favorites I would say 2007 Menghai "7262" ripe pu-erh. Some of the samples are earthy, one was smokey, some woodsy, some spicy, come are complex and deep. Honestly they are all great. I need more time sampling them
Thanks for the kind words everyone. And, great pic there Ambrose!
I started out doing Group Buys for the great folks here on B&B and decided to start up a small business due to the encouragement of a number of the members (also because I am passionate about tea). Everyone on B&B gets a discount so contact me directly because my current site is not very smart. I will make sure you get the right price and only get charged the actual shipping charges.
Don't know where to buy a new brick but I have a very old one that sits on a carved oriental stand.
Would love to know about it.
This tea is very fine. There are no coarse leaves.
