PS3-NFL Sunday Ticket

Hey All,

Living here in North Oklahoma City, my wife and I have the Cox Cable bundle...(internet, phone,TV).

Well, Cox doesn't offer the NFL Sunday Ticket and my wife doesn't want to switch to A.T.T. U verse or Dish.

So, I do have a PS3, and I can run internet(wireless) through it. I do see the little icons for Netflix, MLB, NHL, and other programs. I'm just waiting for the first of September for the NFL Sunday Ticket to show up so I can purchase it.

My questions are as follows. Did you purchase the PS3/NFL ticket last year?( I know in the beginning last year, PS3 had some difficulties but resolved them.) Are you going to purchase it this year?

Do you run it wireless or ethernet it to the PS3? I have read in other forums, some people ethernet it for a better recetion and less buffering.....any truth to this?

Give me the pro's-and-con's of the PS3-NFL Sunday Ticket. ***Remember my cable provider doesn't offer the Sunday Ticket and the wife wants us to stay with our cable company***

You can go wireless, never understood why anyone would.

We have ours hardwired to a 802.11n wireless router, that is connected to the modem behind the tv.

This is good for a few reasons, first I find the wired connection is better as far as lag which isn't an issue with video, but with gaming. Secondly, having 1 half of the connection hardwired, it frees up the n wireless bandwidth for our computers and wireless devices (which can be a lot of devices if friends/the family is over). This issue particularly pronounced for streaming from the computer. If both devices are wireless, you cut the wireless bandwidth in half and you can have streaming issues especially if you are using 802.11 b/g.

A lot of this is really a non issue if you have a n router - but I remember having the issues with my old g, so that is why I have it setup this way. I literally have zero issues with lag, streaming, or any other connection problems.
