Proraso Red

Proraso Red shaving cream was one of classic barbershop products we loved so much.
Unfortunately it is no longer available, since no longer in production.
Anyone here knows the reason?
And will Proraso Red be replaced with another, similar cream?
Any opinion appreciated.

I still have three tubes of Proraso Red in reserve. I also had the pleasure of being one of the beta testers for TSD Proraso Red cream.

TSD made a very good version. It's just about as close as you can get to the real thing. I highly recommend it.

I've never heard this TSD.
Is TSD the same as Proraso Red?
Where to buy it?
And could you expand a little bit more about TSD?

Thanks a lot.

I envy you, Sir! I'm already grieving the day my last tube runs out.

So, how would you configure the TSD Wheat to replicate Proraso Red's scent, etc? (TSD shows a lot of scents, with and without mentol, etc)

Thanks!

It's a shame that Proraso discontinued it. I think it was a better cream than the green.... Lucky you guys that still have some in stock... with the amount of preservatives that Proraso uses, they should last a long time.

I didn't know about the TSD version... might just have to check it out.

As a beta, I received the raw version without any scent. The original didn't have a lot of scent IMHO. I think if you added a bit of menthol to the TSD formula you should be good to go.

I think part of the fascination with Pro Red is that's its no longer available. I never used it myself because it contains lanolin, which is a no go for me. If you never got to try it and are just looking for a European cream that performs similar to Proraso cream but without a ton of menthol and the camphor/eucalyptus scent there are many, many options out there. Just start going through the review section and look for European drugstore creams that come in tubes.
