I am disappointed with the service received from PrincetonWatches.com.
An order for 2 watches was placed yesterday with next day delivery requested, at an additional charge.
Late this afternoon Diane representing Customer Service for Princeton Watches called. She stated that she would need the phone number of the bank, my credit card number again, and the card security code.
Her statements indicated that the order was unusual and the bank would have to verify the charges to my card. Diane also stated the order would not ship before tomorrow at the earliest, after the bank verifies the card information. I deferred responding until Wednesday.
I take exception to their handling of my order. First, I paid for next day delivery, which has now progressed to a 3 day delivery due to delays by Princeton Watches.
I also take exception to the insinuation that something is amiss with the order, and that my intentions were, shall we characterize, as less than honest.
I am also uncomfortable with the request to provide, once again, credit card information that was provided at the time of the order. I am also uncomfortable with providing bank contact information to Princeton Watches. In my decades on this earth, never, not once, has this type of request be made of me.
The whole dialogue sounds tainted to my ear. Do you think this is a legitamate business practice?
What on earth would Customer Service do with the bank contact information?
Unless someone can come up with a plausable explaination, I am considering
action to cancel the order and file a complaint.
