Pricing help

OK I tried a straight...

Not for me I'm afraid, but I am glad I gave it a whirl. So... I want to sell my W&B and strop, but after all that yaking about not profiting on BST I am a little gun shy.

I bought it at a flea market for WAY BELOW what it is worth. Had it honed etc. I took a chance on the thing and this is what I hear from Ken at Rup razor:

"I would sell it for $120 on my web site. Fine razor, took a superior edge, no wear etc. etc."

I was thinking about passing it along for $120 shipped conus with a filley (value $20+-) that I got from Rup...

I don't want to take advantage of anyone, in fact I want the new owner to be thrilled. I just don't quite get the feel yet for what is fair and equitable.

This thing is an absolute beauty. New as near as I can tell.

Thoughts?

What you can do is post some pictures and ask how much is worth. Describe the flaws as accuratly as you can. Someone should be able to give you a price range. I guess it comes down to what you think is fair.

One questoin you need to answer.Do you want to make a good profit on it or do you wanna pay your good luck forward? If the answer is the former then post it or have it posted on ebay.If the answer is the latter then pass it on to someone new to the straight scene. Either way I hope you come back to the "straights are great" club sometime in the future.

I think its okay that you want to sell it for a fair price. No one wants to feel as if they've been taken advantage of whether they are the buyer or the seller. As I see it the discussion regarding making a profit on the bst is mostly about people behaving like dealers and trading on the bst as if it were ebay.

You found this razor and got it into shave ready condition with the purpose of using it. My advice would be to just determine what you "could" get for it and knock 15-25% off the price, whatever you feel is fair. It will also sell quicker if it is less expensive.

I'm not a big fan of bundling, personally.
