Preshave oil question

I was wondering for those who use preshave oil.
Do you rinse it off before lathering or just lather over top and shave.

I'm sure people do it both ways. Just curious how most people do it.

I don't typically wait before lathering either, as some do. Just rub in on/in real good--nice little face massage--then start applying shave product.

I use pre-shave oil on my ATG pass. I wet my face, apply the oil sparingly, and then put the lathe on top of that.

I don't often use a PSO, but when I do I use it like that as well, though I put it on before the first pass.

Usually no rinse after the pre-shave oil. Sometimes, after I've rubbed in the oil, I will take a hot, damp towel and lay it on my face for about 30 seconds or so (until it cools down) before lathering.

No rinse, I face lather over the top of it. I apply 2 drops before the WTG pass, no reapplication for XTG and then 1 drop before ATG. I find the 1 drop for the ATG really gives me a very comfortable BBS.

I use Somersets oil, which I have found to be the best out of the ~7 PSO's ive used over the years.
