Preferred way to apply cologne?

I think I prefer the splash bottles actually. I only have one - Creed Vetiver 1948. With that, I do a couple dabs to the throat and chest, and one on each elbow pit (this fragrance isn't too strong).

With spray bottles, I've taken to spraying into my hand and then applying to the throat and chest. Or, lift up my shirt and spray under it.
