Pre de Province shave soap

Gentlemen,

My Pre de Province shave soap arrived from The Soap Bar (thesoapbar.com) and I am most pleased with the product.

Until now I had not used any products by the makers of this soap. I like it; the scent is subtle, the lather rich and the resulting shave quality.

Also, I liked the service from the Soap Bar. The owner, Jacqueline, also included a personal, handwritten note, which I found a nice touch.

Yeah, good stuff. I have a hard time squeezing it in between MWF & Pen's EF (recent convert to the Pen's...yowza!), but whenever I use it, I'm pleased.

My favorite along with Mama Bears Aged Spice. PdP has the freshest, cleanest smell and goes great with any aftershave.

I will always have PdP in the rotation.

i love this soap, and really appreciate the scent and how it treats the skin... however, im curious if anyone finds it lacking in the slickness department?

it has cushion for miles and the way it leaves the skin would be unprecedented if it wasn't for MWF, but i can't help but think that i would use it a little more often if it had a little more glide.

Just picked up a tin at the local co-op. I have yet to try it, but it does smell great. Plus, it comes w/ a reusable container. I'll give an update after I try it.

Gentlemen,

Sixxtwo in the previous post makes an excellent point, which I failed to mention. Pre de Province also comes in a reusable tin can. Since on weekdays I frequently shave after a hard workout at the health club, topped with steam and wet shaving ritual, the tin travel cans are quite useful.

I too am a fan of this soap! I use it when I travel as the tin can is super for travel purposes. Try the after shave balm! It is a fabulous combination. I love this stuff. It's in my rotation with my MWF and Tabac. You can't go wrong with these soaps!!

An outstanding soap. Does everything very well: Lather, scent, skincare and most of all, the shave. The puck also lasts a very long time. As far as comments about slickness, I would say that its slick, if not THE slickest soap I own. I found that the richness of the lather and the resulting slickness have improved greatly since I took the soap out of the tin. It has made it much easier to get plenty of soap on the brush. The balm is excellent also. I used both this morning with great results, as usual.

PS: Also find that the soap is great on days when my skin is irritated or dry. It really seems to sooth.
