Post-shave lather?

Friday, I decided to experiment by relathering after I finished shaving, while I was rinsing out my brush and depositing my used blade in the bank. I reapplied the lather and let it sit for the couple of minutes it took me to clean up. I wiped my face off with a cold washcloth, and it felt fantastic! I almost didn't apply aftershave. Almost.

My shave Monday was very rough. I am confident it was a bad blade, since I made it a point of paying careful attention to my blade pressure. My face still looked like I got raked by a cat; I had at least a half-dozen small nicks. It was awful. After I finally finished (the end couldn't come quick enough!) I reapplied the lather and let it sit while I cleaned up. I had used L'Occitane Cade, and it closed up most of the small nicks. The aftershave took care of the rest.

I think this may be a semi-regular thing for me now. Anyone else try this?

I've never done a full re-lather but it's not a bad idea at all. Glycerin is great for soothing and healing so it totally makes sense. When I use Col Conks, I'll skip an AS balm after my WH and rub in some of the extra lather. Super soothing and a great moisturizer. I don't like doing that with most of my soaps/creams but this is a great alternative. I'll definitely be giving this a try.

I've been doing this for years and it works great as a post shave. Better than washing the extra lather down the drain. I don't normally leave it on very long, just while I rinse my brush

I always reapply my left over lather and leave it there while I clean the razor and brush. Then I rinse and apply Aftershave. Does it make a difference? I honestly do not know in my case. All I know is that I feel bad to throw out good lather so I use it to do a last clean-up!

I've always done this as well, if the lather feels great for a first pass then it still feels great post shave. I clean everything up then rinse and go to the alum block.

I do this every time I shave. I have been using Mike's Natural most days and there are so many great things in there for your face I wouldn't want to waste any of them. My face has never felt better after a shave.

I've started doing this since changing from proraso soap to arko. I now use the proraso as a post shave treatment so it gets used up and I love the smell and tingle, as said, it seems to clear up any weepers as good as alum.

Always do a post shave lather. It's soap, remember, so I figure it cleans up any cut stubble left behind, as well as making my face feel great afterwards.
