Hey all, I was hoping to send some Pinaud after shave through the mail along with a couple other things. The more I read into it, it's sounding like it might be a no-no. Has anyone had issues shipping AS including alcohol domestically through USPS?
Just tell them that it is aftershave. You can ship it to another US address but it can't fly, has to go by train or truck so it will just take longer to get there.
It also might be a good idea to package it well, but not seal it up because they might want to see how you packaged it to determine if its safe enough for travel.
I shipped out some cologne and told them it was that. I had to tell the lady how I packaged it and that was it.
You should tape the lid shut with something like electrician's tape, put it inside ziplock bags in case it leaks, use plenty of bubble wrap and write ORM-D inside a square on the shipping label, and then send it by Parcel Post. You have to tell them the package contains liquid.
Yes to all the above. Also tell the buyer in advance it might take 10-15 days to get there. I sold some Old Spice a/s from here in California to a gent on the East coast and he was upset it took so long to get there. In fact somehow he was able to open a dispute with PP five days after I shipped it! All this after I had listed it in my sale that it would go ground shipping, etc. He never did leave a feedback
Went to the post office today and totally got shut down shipping the AS. The clerk told me (with an attitude) that if it were under 1 oz it'd be ok, but 6 oz, they just wouldn't ship. I was kind of dumbfounded, since that went against what I read on their website.
I went back to work, went online for the USPS shipping restrictions and sure enough, it said it was fine to ship, just had to stay on the ground. Not gonna lie, I was kinda pissed about it. Called up to the post office after I got off, but they were closed (5:02 PM, why am I not surprised).
Thinking about calling up tomorrow, but not sure if I wanna make that guy hate his job more than he probably already does.
