Please help what strop paste to use

I want some advice on what pastes to use on my two sided balsa strop please. I have made a two sided balsa strop backed with hardwood, Purple Heart to be exact, and I plan to use chromium oxide on one side, as this is what I gather is the most recommended paste to use from all the posts I have read. I need to get some advice from all the experienced folks here that are willing to help/advise with my second or first paste whichever it is that I need for the other side. I have come to understand that it would most likely be a diamond paste or spray, but I have no idea what grade or carat would give me the best result to help me increase the time needed between professional honing.I am waiting to try to figure which oher one to use along with the crmium oxide so I can place an order for them both at the same time from HandAmerica so I can reduce the shipping cost. Any help and advice is very much appreciated with this.

Thanks, Baby Face

Baby Face,

To be perfectly honest, Chrom Ox is all you need... Well for that matter, an 8K stone is all that is "needed":001_rolle. However, if you just want something else, I'd say get .25 diamond spray because Chrom Ox is .5 micron. Also, I'd recommend attaching felt to the side that you are going to spray to counteract whatever properties in that diamond spray that make them make a harsh edge...

Enjoy your esoteric experiments in edge acumination :tongue_sm

Cheers
