Good Afternoon Gents:
I acquired a vintage new in-the-Tortoise shell case Travel Tech razor a month ago to use on an upcoming trip. Until this morning it sat unused in the case, so last night I cleaned it and sterilized it in Barbicide and this morning decided to give it a test run.
I figured I would use a IP Red blade because they are my favorite, so I lathered up with one of my standards (Mama Bear's OS scent) and gave it a whirl. I have to say it was an INCREDIBLY close and comfortable 2 pass shave! I truly did not expect that from the tiny little travel razor. I do tend to hold my razors up near the head so that its short profile did not really hinder me much. It was noticeably lighter in weight than my standard Tech's, but easy and comfortable to use never the less. In fact the only thing I did object to is that because the razor is so short, I kept burning my hand in the hot water I rinse it with while shaving. Needles to say I am quite impressed and a very happy camper. I now have no hesitation in the least about taking it along as my official travel razor.
The next piece of equipment I "need" is a good travel brush. I always wondered how the brush dries when it is put into it's case shortly after use. I like to shave in the morning and I will be changing hotels every day so the brush will have no to time to dry. Suggestions welcome.
