Just feeling this out. Anyone interested in my services for pipe restoration? I recently acquired a full sanding, buffing, polishing set-up for my basement workshop and have restored a few estate pipes with great success. At the most, I can sand, re-stain, and fully polish pipes. I'll post some pictures of my results later tonight, but alas, I have no "before" pictures (I get too excited to start working). I am still in the research stages, so no idea on pricing yet.
Update: Here are some pictures of a pipe I recently restored. As I neglected to take "before" pictures, I have scoured the web to find a picture that is representative of my pipe's prior condition. The first picture shows what my pipe looked like before (the one on the top represents it best). Essentially, it was dirty, scratched, and oxidized everywhere: bowl and stem. The stem was sanded, to remove oxidation and the majority of teeth marks (some are too deep to fix). The bowl was sanded to bare wood to remove the spotty finish and major scratches. I then stained the bowl using a pipe-maker approved gel stain. The stem and bowl then went through several buffing treatments with white diamond compound and carnauba wax on a cloth wheel buffing system.
