I like the short for portability but I like the Churchwarden just because well...it looks interestng to me. Is there anything I need to know about smoking a Churchwarden?

I would pass on all of them especially the 2nd. I would be willing to bet you cob will give you a better smoke than any of the pipes you a linked to.

Commander, Just out of curriosity why do you say that. Also Does can someone tell me the reasoning behind a Churchwarden pipe?

Any reccomendation as to where to get a nice and reasonably priced Churchwarden?
Gurnall seems to like his MR Brog churchwarden. I got a couple cherry wood long stem standing pipes that smoke great from ebay.

Yep

I'd pass on the pipes on amazon too. no clue how they are engineered either, where you can call Iwan Ries and ask them to check the drafthole for you. ;)

also, you may want to consider an estate pipe. many of my pipes were previously owned... and you can find some decent deals :)

and corn cobs are a great way to add pipes to the rotation for a few bucks - they smoke pretty darn well for the price too ;)
