Pinaud Lilac Vegetal

After reading all the comments, good and bad, on here I decided to buy a bottle and see what I thought. Let me preface this by saying I like the smell of Lilacs in bloom!

I like it and SWMBO is on the fence...she doesn't think it smells awful but it isn't her favorite.

I'm glad I got it and will probably use it tomorrow morning after I shave. I think I'll stop short of using it as an all over body splash like it says on the bottle.

Then later you may find yourself thinking, the attributes I used to dislike are now the ones I like best. Then the next thing you know you are buying things like Jicky, Bvlgari, and K10, searching out those things that do not necessarily smell good in the beginning that you begin to crave.

There is a lot of my shave stuff my wife just can not stand to smell, but thank the good Lord, the Veg ain't one. She loves it as much as I do. I am one lucky guy.

We both like lilac and can smell it in the ASL.

Your female decoder ring may work differently than mine but I have yet to find a woman who is on the fence about any aroma coming from a man. I read what you are saying as she don't like it but is tolerating it to humor you.

I just snagged a bottle on Amazon and I was too curious to see if it chose me to wait..

I didn't smell any cat pee.... and the lilac smell (and a little baby powder) was delightful!

I don't know if it beats clubman, but I like it alot!!!

Well after holding out for a little while i decided to try it out on my face and i mus say it smells awsome!

I really thought I would like it, as I like pretty much everything, but I found it to be one of the most offensive scents I have ever subjected myself to. I felt bad for the people who had to smell me until it wore off...

I have to agree. I have given the Veg several attempts for it to accept me, and for me to accept it, but we just cant come to an agreement. I even bought it a nice glass bottle and let it steep for a while, but it still offends with it's "pissy-diaper" scent.
I have also noticed that local stores that once carried it no longer have the Veg on their shelves. L/V does'nt seem to be accepted by the locals.

My brother suprised me with a birthday gift earlier this week, a gift box, and inside was an old glass bottle of Vegetal. The bottle, cap and labels are in beautiful condition and it's about 3/4 full. I can't tell how old it is, but the fluid inside is lighter in color and upon sampling it does smell a little different than present day Veg. It's a little sweeter and it seems to have just a slight note of Clubman intermixed with the lilac. Unfortunately we may never know if this is how the Veg smelled in it's original formula, or if the difference is just because of age.
