Pierre Cardin Shaving Soap?

Has anyone seen or tried this? (IS there such a thing?)

I just bought something that I think is PC shaving soap (from dbay)... rather plain round puck with PC carved in the middle of the puck....

Any information welcomed!

thanks

never heard of it.
but given the evolution of the brand in the last decades, I would not care much about it.

anyway, tell us more about it when you have tried it !

well... the one thing I know about this - it was made & distributed pre-1991. I will indeed report back once I've given it a spin.

I saw another auction a while ago that had a complete NOS Pierre Cardin boxed shaving set. It had a mug, boar brush (looked like a re-branded EverReady with a long handle) and a round bottom soap puck.
The vendor said it had a price tag dated 1993. The box did have a UPC code.

The Pierre Cardin line of products was originally designed and manufactured by Shulton (Old Spice) if that helps.

I got one of these sets. The box had been opened, but the soap was still in the original shrink wrap. The mug was what I was really interested in, and didn't cost too much. According to the box, everything was made in Taiwan.

The soap had a rather insubstantial foamy lather when I first tried it. I grated it, and it came apart into a powder instead of shavings. Carefully poured the powder into a mug (not the one it came with) and filled it with water, then drained off the excess. The resulting soap works well enough, about on a par with VdH. The smell is a little perfumey, but not too strong. In short, not worth buying for its own sake, but good enough to use if you do get some.
