Personna Titanuim DE Blade

Anybody ever hear of Personna Titanuim DE blades? A search here and google did not turn up any info. I got two these blades loose in a lot of razors I bought. The one pictured is the one that looks like it might not have been used. I thought ASR gave up on DE research and development after the failure of the 74's. These were made in the USA. Sorry for the poor picture quality.

It looks like a Personna Ultra-Chrome, a blade that appeared before the debut of the Personna 74 Tungsten Steel that came out in early ‘71. The Ultra-Chrome had Stainless Steel printed on it instead of Titanium. There is a patent number on that blade which is probably for a special coating. It is interesting that it does not say “Made in the U.S.A” on it. The first rendition of the P74 Tungsten Steel did. Does the printing on that look completely legit? And, also the patent number would be helpful.

Prototype that was never intented to reach the market? It's curious whatever it is.

I have an open dispenser of them that I got from an estate lot from an ASR employee. The dispenser is in the style of the prior generation blades to the 74. I will try to upload a picture. This lot had a lot of fascinating stuff. It appears the guy would try one blade out of every pack, and then save it. I checked and it has made in USA on the other side. The patent number on mine is the 307...... one about vydex. There is another patent number on the dispenser as well, but it is probably a patent about the dispenser.

UPDATE- In honor of this post, I shaved with one today in a Slim Adjustable set on 5. I have only used P74s in milder razors, but this was a shock- a BBS shave with very little effort, but irritation on the sides of the face. This is most like my shaves with a Feather in a Krona or Black SuperSpeed. The major difference was no blood with this shave, as in the closer shaves with the Feather.

Those who have used P74s in an adjustible, comment on the settings used and shave or irritation received, please. Otherwise, I think that different choices were used in the P74 to get a longer-lasting less aggressive blade than the Titanium, which I think may have been a test marketed blade, particularly if found in Indianapolis, which was famous for being a test market in those days & at the headquarters of ASR.

The only Gillette adjustable I have tried it in is a '59 Fatboy, settings 3 and 9. The shaves were alright and I had zero irritation, but it was just the wrong combo for me. I imagine the Slim is a much better choice. Less aggressive settings ought to make the blade last longer, but then one is maybe giving up a bit of performance.
