"Personna is the blade to buy" - 1944

Reading this makes me realize what a bargain we're getting on blades now. The blades were $.10/blade nearly 70 years ago. The Personna Lab Blues can be had today for a couple cents more per blade. A dollar in 1944 would have the relative purchasing power of $13.20 today.

Man I remeber the days of sending a check or money order and waiting 4-6 weeks for deliveries. How'd we survive?

And I remember as a youngster ordering some toy or what have you from the back of a magazine and mailing the amount required in dollar bills. Yep, those days are long gone.

You're lucky to be such a whippersnapper. When I was a kid we did the same thing, but it only required a quarter & a dime, taped to a piece of cardboard. Never received anything in less than 4 weeks.
Best regards,
Ron

When I was in the 2nd grade (49/50) I listened to radio serials. One offered a "Tom Mix", telescope. It was shaped like a .45 long Colt cartridge. It separated in the middle and you could hide stuff in it. I don't remember the price other than it was under $.50 and you were required to send 2 cereal box tops in also.
