peculiar smell of lime AS?

I am not gonna name what brand of AS I have, and I have not actually tried it on my face yet, just a little on my hand. But anyhow the smell reminds me of instant lemonade mix!?

Anybody get that after trying lime flavored AS, regardless of brand?

Is it clubman? I havent found a lime aftershave I like yet. Theyre all to sweet.

The Pinaud Lime is pretty "Lime-ade" smelling. Godrej Shaving Cream in lime is the same smell - than candy lime smell.

Old Spice Lime is much more subdued, not as candy smelling and more "citrusy" if you know what I mean?

The only Lime AS I have tried is TOBS #74 Lime, which does not have a candy scent. It smells like a natural lime, dry not sweet. I highly recommend it.

Stephan Island Lime is a very dry lime scent. I don't care for the Pinaud lollipop smell myself, but the Stephan's product is very nice. It mixes well with other AS as well, like bay rum and the Old Spice clones. Inexpensive if you can find it. I bought mine from Appleton Barber Supply and had good service. I ordered a bunch of stuff from them so the shipping was pretty reasonable - they have a LOT of good AS type items.

I might have to try the TSD stuff. Especially since you can get it with menthol, then 2X menthol. I could smell like limes and have my face feel like somebody is pouring liquid nitrogen on it for an hour or two. I have been reading that menthol AS compilation thread a little too much. Need to try the Osage rub too, but that is another thread...

Saint Charles Shave's lime offerings (both the splash and the milk) are excellent and smell wonderful. The splash has alcohol, but the milk doesn't.

The SCS Lime milk is actually my favorite aftershave. Lots of skin goodies and a heavenly scent. Price is right, too.

Highly recommended. Smells just like you picked a fresh lime and cut it open. Fantastic stuff.

Might be just me, but GFT West Indian Extract of Limes smells like a lime. First aftershave I bought since joining B&B and I've only got a few more shakes left in the bottle. I'm hoping I get some more for Christmas...

4711 is a great citrus/lime smell. The German Navy in both world wars issued it by the litre to submarine crews to counteract the smell of the "pig boats"-unimpeachable macho credentials!!

+1
wearing that one today, great non-super sweet scent. Pity the bottle doesn't have an atomizer built in

I can second this. A very nice, inexpensive lime AS.
