Pasted strop question

When you are freshening up the edge of your razor with a CrO pasted strop, do you use a stropping stroke or lead with the edge?

I sure hope you're kidding.

Guess what happens when you strop with a leading edge.

Believe it or not guys, but Dovo claims their 12621002 paddle, the one with the block of wood, is designed for wedge razors to be used with a honing stroke (edge forward) on the green-pasted-side...just didn't publish that info for the 'general public' in case someone said that we steered them towards cutting their strop.

ive gone edge first on my balsa strop without nicking it (just to see if I could). but I dont see the need to, really.

My experience cutting nicks in my strop suggests that it is a bad idea to lead with the sharp end, accidentally or on purpose. You may also try "edge-first" on wet-or-dry 2000 grit.
