Parker 21?

I won a Parker 21 on Ebay. Have read that they are okay pens. What do I need to do to it to get it in good working order? Do I need to use parker ink? Where can I get the ink and such to make it work as it should? I have no experience in this area. Thanks for the help.

Is it NOS (new old stock) or used? If it's used, you might want to check the sack that holds the ink by sucking up water and seeing if it works properly.

As for ink, any ink that's made for fountain pens will do. Meaning, no calligraphy ink or India ink. If you go to gouletpens.com you can buy some sample inks to try out, without having to invest a lot of money on an ink you may or may not like.

I own a NOS Parker 21 "Super" and I love it. I probably use it more than any of my other fountain pens, just because it ALWAYS writes whenever I put nib to paper. I find Pilot Iroshizuku inks work outstandingly well with it, but that's a high end line of ink. Other (cheaper) options are Noodler's, Diamine, Waterman, etc.

Yep, my NOS Super 21 is one of my favorites. Very reliable and the nib even has a bit of character. Even if you buy NOS, you'll want to flush it first, though. I tried using mine without doing anything to it; didn't turn out so well. A quick cleaning/flush was all it needed to get started.

those 21 super nos sure so look nice. Having won some cash recently, one is on my possibles list. That and a vintage pelikan or a parsons essential from italix....... decisions decisions...
